Louisville, KY, October 22, 2008:Â Â
It all started with the great idea of Stan Curtis at USA Harvest in Louisville, Kentucky.
He launched the first "Blessings in a Backpack" program at a school in Louisville. The idea was to send children home with an extra backpack filled with food to sustain them over the weekend so they would come to school on Monday morning well fed and ready to focus and learn.
This program has now grown to seven cities and 20 more schools are ready to launch.  Stan Curtis Contacted the former Disney star of "Lizzie Maguire and “Cheaper by the Dozenâ€Â Hilary Duff to Promote Blessings in a Backpack. Â
She showed up at two elementary schools in Louisville, KY on October 22, 2008 to show support for Blessings in a Backpack. Hilary Duff went to Portland Elem School and then went to Roosevelt Perry Elem. She talked to the children and stuffed food inside each backpack as children walked out the door. Hilary Duff still had a long day ahead of her.  It was already a little bit after 3:00 pm when she teamed up with mobile Marketing company CW Multimedia Corporation to help promote Blessings in a Backpack. CW Multimedia Corporation his going to integrate mobile marketing into the Blessings in a Backpack Campaign that will allow Hilary Duff to communicate with her fans while raising money for Blessings in a Backpack.
